SLR Magic 28mm f/2.8 lens for Sony NEX (Sony E-mount)

The SLR Magic 28mm f/2.8 lens is a multi coated manual prime lens that is made to work with the Sony NEX system for camera bodies such as the NEX-3, NEX-5, and NEX-VG10. Lens is in native E lens mount and will work directly on your camera!
  
What is really special about this lens is that it is very light weight (~280g) and has a unique rotational aperture disk. When wide open it produces silky smooth bokeh. When stopped down it still produces silky smooth bokeh. Whay? It is because the rotational apertrue disk ensures a perfectly round aperture opening at all times for the perfect bokeh. It is the signature of this SLR Magic lens and it is quite interesting

The lens is great for creative photography. We occasionally receive questions about how this lens differ from the kit lens. Field of view (FOV) becomes 42mm on the SONY NEX camera.  This is between wide angle and normal focal length in 35mm photography and is great for use in proper framing for a shot which may be difficult to master with the kit lens of your camera.   A perfectly round aperture is achieved at all times means great portrait photos can be achieved.

The lens is a fully manual lens and it is a great lens for creative photographers who would like to take artistic photos with a shallow Depth of Field. It is easy to use and we suggest you take a look at our REVIEWS section.

SETUP GUIDE & TIPS

Manual focus is easily achieved by the assistance of x7-X14 zoom of MF Assistance function in Live View. Users are advised to use Aperture priority (A mode) with this lens. User would have to select shoot w/o lens mode in the camera setting. More advanced users may use Manual mode (M mode) when using this lens for creative opportunities. It is also recommended to shoot in M mode when either the internal or external flash is used as TTL metering is not enabled in Aperture priority mode.

Please do not attempt to force the built-in hood off. It is part of the lens. We have had customers who have done so and damaged their lens permanently. We will not be responsible for mechanical failure due to inappropriate usage of the lens.
